This is medium to large sized mixed media artwork on high quality Belgian Linen Canvas. With lots of textured impasto sections, dark and lighter colours are juxtaposed to create dramatic tension, whilst the overall finish is 'impressionistic' rather than representational.
Plodders Rest was created in response to the book Thirty-Two Words for Field, Manchán Magan, and in particular how our ancestors a more magical way of seeing the world.
It is painted on heavy grade linen (415 gsm) with key colours including Prussian Blue, Sienna, Wedgewod Blue, Coral Red and Ochre.
